故事讲述军情六处训练和培养的Adam Lawrence，桃谷他的职业生涯似乎已不会再有变化。但老相识俄罗斯间谍Kara找上了他，桃谷而两人又有着一段复杂的过去，Adam被迫质疑自己生活中的每件事、每个人。Kara、Adam和他的妻子Maddy形成了一个三角关系：三人都在试图揭露对方的秘密，想方设法正确应对政治和外交关系，同时守住自己的个人生活，以及他们最爱的人。
