她觉得丈夫有些不对头，日本却又不知道是哪儿出了问题。一天晚上，日本她突然发现他根本不是她丈夫，他其实应该称之为“它”，因为他根本不是人类。“它”是一台智能机器人，是身为机器人工程师的丈夫的最新作品。由于丈夫斗胆打破了机器人三大定律，所以整个研究过程对外严格保密，那么最终阶段的人机相处测试只能交给最信任的她来完成。她万分崩溃却又无力抗争，只好尝试着和机器人相处一段时间。就在这怪异的相处之中，她从最初的抵触抗拒慢慢变成了依赖和欣赏，最后甚至对机器人产生了一种别样的感情。事情的发展太出乎意料，勃然大怒的丈夫想尽办法折磨惩罚她和机器人，并用极为冷酷的方法证明机器人根本就没有感情。她起初不相信，多次试探之后，却不得不接受残酷的现实。机器人确实没有感情，她所感受到了一切其实是程序生成的表面行为带来的假相。心灰意冷的她把机器人彻底尘封，丈夫也终于意识到自己的荒谬，向她表达了深深的忏悔。生活仿佛回归了当初的平静，可看似平静的她，嘴角却总挂着一丝难以察觉的笑容。一个酝酿许久的计划，正在按照她的设想慢慢推进着……
