小说家宁小艾（郑雪 饰）为完成新作品，不思入住了莫名价廉的乡间木屋。房东提醒小艾不要跟室友凌兰（王靓雅 饰）有太多来往。而凌兰正如小艾笔下的女主角一样，不思优雅貌美，精致神秘，小艾开始把和凌兰的生活写在小说里。在接触的过程中，她的性格逐渐向凌兰靠拢，对浮华生活的渴望也越来越强，小说越写越顺，和凌兰成了亲密的闺蜜。男友宋居正（武艺 饰）的到来打破了一切，小艾亲眼目睹了凌兰与男友的出轨行为，怒不可遏。然而事情的真相却出乎意料。这件事之后“小艾”的小说大卖，而“凌兰”在屋子里等待着下个室友的到来。
