黄雪梅（林青霞 饰）的父母因保护“天魔琴”为六大门派追杀致死，犯罪小弟黄麟也失踪。她抱琴跳崖，犯罪重伤未死，并练得绝世之功“天龙八音”后出山报仇。她设计让欲夺“天魔琴”的武林人士自相残杀。在与飞虎镖局吕腾空义子吕麟（元彪 饰）交手中，雪梅发现他就是自己失踪的弟弟……
