回复 :解放前的旧上海滩，正处在一个罪恶横行、是非颠倒的黑暗年代。物价飞涨，黑帮、军阀、洋人横行霸道，饱受压迫和欺凌的百姓最希望正义降临。于是一群正义勇敢的年轻人挺身而出，用他们的智慧和信念驱散黑暗。因犯错被放长假的巡捕房探长钟朗（钟汉良 饰）正在酒楼闹事买醉，这时身为报社记者的妹妹钟慧（涂黎曼 饰）向他通报一则惊人的消息。南郊发现一具尸体，死者系被割喉而死，双手被用水手结反绑。听到消息，钟朗顿时清醒，原来三年前曾有一个“割喉魔”名震江湖，其作案手法与南郊案件如出一辙。当年钟朗正因为抓错凶手才让割喉魔逍遥法外，杀害更多人。今非昔比的“老虎探长”钟朗，在实习探员韩非（释小龙 饰）和医科大学女教授于胜男（齐芳 饰）等人的帮助下，重新展开了他的查案之旅……
