国际联合扫毒组探员朱志杰（吕良伟）奉命调查毒枭集团的一切活动，啄木是次主要目标是黑道中人大雷（秦沛），啄木怎料，他所认识的硬汉子神经（单立文）突遭多名杀手残害，遇刺身亡。杰有感事件与势力助大的大雷有关，遂着手查探个中真相。丧礼过后，上级要求杰加入大雷集团，他乘机追查杀手下落；无意中踢破白粉交易，并从神经女儿子红（徐若瑄）的男友口中，得知神经致死原因乃大雷幕后主使。可是，杰单枪匹马闯入毒枭巢穴所为却得不到上级、小红及红友小梅（卢淑芳）谅解，更出乎意料的是上级竟要他退出任务。可是，杰为了治好神经儿子阿光身患的重疾，再入虎穴，冒险洗去毒品交易的巨款，此举却招惹黑白两道拼命追查，未几，杰落入大雷手中，惨遭折磨，就在危急关头……
