本片改编自天下霸唱同名小说，国产作为《鬼吹灯》系列起源前作，国产讲述了青年胡八一的首次入墓摸金。胡八一和好友王胖子被神秘老板雇佣前往老黑山寻找摸金玦，期间遭遇狼群，被迫进入老黑山腹地，为逃出黑山头古妖冢，跟一群企图掠夺国家宝藏的坏分子斗争并拼死护宝的故事。
