为了应对日新月异的高科技犯罪，亚洲区独立于司法和警察系统之外的第三方机构特殊科学搜查研究所（SRI）宣布成立。在所长的矢千景（原田美枝子 饰）的主持下，亚洲区牧史郎（上川隆也 饰）、三泽京助（原田泰造 饰）、小川纱织（高桥真唯 饰）、野村洋（村井良大 饰）等四名成员一次次奔赴各种离奇诡异的犯罪现场。《血球》森林中惊现全身脱水的干尸，死者生前曾被血球追杀；《伏地女王》一男子被突然出现的蚂蚁咬成白骨，这一切似乎与某个全女性组成的生化公司有关；《在黑暗中蠢蠢欲动的美少女》多年前死去的七岁童星，突然出现在夜晚的街头，她一边唱歌一边将靠近她的人化作液体；《窥视深渊之人》接连数起设计巧妙的高智商高科技犯罪，矛头却直指牧史郎。
