昭和15年，黑色河本明子（芳根京子 饰）与父亲源吉、黑色母亲静子以及两个弟弟在广岛县三滝町幸福地生活着。明子的乐趣就是演奏自己最热爱的钢琴。直到某一天，一直支持她追逐梦想的教师竹内（町田启太 饰）收到了征兵通知书…。随着战况不断恶化，明子的生活与音乐渐行渐远。“我想学习”、“我想再次弹钢琴”，她的这些愿望被强制的义务劳动无情打破。昭和20年8月6日清晨，明子同样不顾父亲的反对，为了工作前往市中心。时隔75年，受损的钢琴重睹天日，奏出明子的思念。
