萨姆与塔斯克(费斯与图奇分饰)是一对相守20年的伴侣，辰已俩人计划驱车穿越英格兰探访朋友、辰已家人和过去待过的地方。自两年前塔斯克被诊断出患有早发性痴呆以来，他们在一起的时间便成了他们之间最重要的事。但是随着旅程的进行，他们对于未来的想法充满冲突，过往的秘密也不断涌现，并且他们对彼此的爱从未像现在这样受到考验。最终，他们还必须面对这样一个问题：面对塔斯克的疾病，彼此相爱意味着什么。
