回复 :一件奇案轰动了县城：县委刘书记的女婿罗伟被待业青年汤辉打伤，当夜死亡。出殡那天，灵车被公安局拦住，法医江文景要求开棺验尸。经检查，发现死者枕骨有凹陷性骨折，颈部肌肉坏死。公安局长派龚队长与江文景调查此案。在调查中，案犯汤辉与罗伟的爱人刘娜对发案的起因说法不一，使调查陷入困境。经科学鉴定，死者凹陷骨折系小圆形器械打击造成，颈部肌肉坏死是受化学药品腐蚀，从而断定这是谋杀。汤辉被释放后，侦破重点转到医院。然而，在案发当夜值班的赵医生拒绝配合调查，他回家后就昏倒在床上。经化验，他并非自杀，只是喝了刘娜为他冲的一杯麦乳精。正当公安局对刘娜进行调查时，外面传出了一系列有关江文景的流言。江文景置之不理，在家里用小白鼠做药品实验，终于揭开了死者肌肉坏死的原因：用稀硫酸向人的哑门注射，即可造成立即死亡，而皮肤无异常反应。显然，敲折颅骨是为了制造假相，嫁祸于人。刘娜被拘留后一直守口如瓶，案情毫无进展。彭县长建议立即放人，并指名要江文景下乡参加社队体改工作。一天，汤辉给江文景送去了一张他无意中拍下的刘娜与一男人拥抱的照片，那男人是个背影。他曾拿此照片敲诈过刘娜，刘娜高价买下了底片。案情有了新的突破。一天晚上，江文景的未婚妻忽然找到他，说是自己的弟弟--医生梅玉贵与刘娜发生了不正当关系，恳求江文景不要再查下去。江文景不顾未婚妻的请求，连夜去公安局汇报，走到护城河大桥时，被一蒙面人打下河去。一直暗中保护他的汤辉将他救起。江文景佯装昏迷被送到医院，梅玉贵借抢救之机，又以同样谋杀手段对付江文景，但江文景在护士的配合下巧妙地使用了"调包计"，使梅玉贵的恶行败露。县委刘书记也把刘娜带到现场，要求公安局对她拘留审查……

回复 :本片受到《黄油盒婴儿》真实故事的启发，是一部曲折的超自然惊悚片，也是向《闪灵》、《罗丝玛丽的婴儿》、《9号谋杀案》等经典慢热恐怖片的致敬。影片讲述了一对夫妇为了给妻子庆祝生日来到一个乡村酒店度周末，但这个酒店其实是一个闹鬼的孕产妇家庭所开，有婴儿和母亲在此被谋杀。由此这对夫妻遇到了一系列惊悚的事情。影片主演阵容强大，由戛纳影后苏珊娜·克莱门特领衔主演。
回复 :The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years.At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with.But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood.I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will.
