剧情是关於孤儿 Pete 结识了忽隐忽现的妙妙龙 Elliott ，美日得到妙妙龙的暗助他才逃离奴役的命运，美日后来他被灯塔看守员的女儿 Nora 收养，而 Nora 的男友在此之前却已经航海失去了音讯，Nora 每天由灯塔遥望著大海，期待会有奇迹出现… Pete 与妙妙龙的友情、Nora 与其男友的爱情，以及 Nora 对 Pete 的怜悯关怀之情，交织成这一部温馨感人的歌舞电影。本片是一部真人与动画合演的电影，动画部分就是那只妙妙龙 Elliott 而已，比较以往迪士尼的真人动画杰作，如【南方之歌】、【悠情伴我心】、【欢乐满人间】以及【飞天万能床】等，动画真人合演的部分都只有一小段而已，但在本片当中，妙妙龙与演员常常同时出现，尤其是 Pete 还常坐在它的肚子上与它嬉闹、诉说心事，真人、动画配合的技巧更上一层楼!

Amongst the passengers, being taken to a hotel in Ljubljana, is a quiet, beautiful young Danish girl Iben (25). This is how she meets Tina (25) who drives a shuttle as a summer job. They both need each other, but are very careful because one of them is hiding a secret. They speak to each other in English and in their native languages. Only one of the two languages has the so-called dual, a special grammatical form used in expressions that involve just two subjects. The other language does not. Dual is an honest story about two people who meet precisely at the moment when they absolutely should not have - but they are nevertheless a bit happier because they did.
