大唐末年边陲之地的古墓之中，一棵千年鬼木吸收日月精华修炼成妖，却因树体所缚，不能离开这座古墓的方圆十里。故一直谋划着化身之法，此时正被前来刺探军情的血童和骨夫人打断化身之术并深受重创。为了疗伤，他疯狂吸取城中壮丁精血。壮丁的失踪引起了黑衣卫统领郭平的注意，下令缉拿凶手。此时捉妖人柳毅看到满城妖气，前来捉妖除魔。柳毅在捉拿狐妖云朵的过程中被隐藏在城中的捉妖人安歌救走，而安歌跟郭平却是相互爱慕的情侣。由于误会，郭平抓住柳毅并看管审讯，柳毅向郭平道出实情说壮丁失踪不是普通案件，而是妖物作祟，并带郭平见识了安歌的真实身份，三人误会解除并相互认可，最终郭平为救安歌牺牲，柳毅安歌联手铲除了妖物鬼冢。
